For a moment i was caught amongst the chaos,
entranced by all the drama in the feed.
I smelt the burning of a million ballots,
I saw the universe on top of me…
And the prize they gave to all the non believers
was a prize that we could never understand;
a life of 9 to 5's and wanting nothing,
a life of letting life slip out your hands.
Oh why?
My relevance is nothing in the city,
the work we do is always overlooked.
This passion that we have amounts to nothing,
in the eyes of the world we're all a bunch of crooks.
Oh, we strive and we strive to become more than our parents,
a craving I can truly understand.
When I honestly think that I won't make it past 30 -
it's a life of letting life slip from your hands.
Oh why?
Oh I know that we're aimlessly floating on a time bomb.
But I don't know why I am fine with that.
It's ok to feel alone and to feel terrified.
But I don't and I don't understand.
