about
‘To The Border’ is the first release from LOWRIE’s upcoming album ‘NakedBodySlowMotion’ (set to be released in 2019). The single echoes back to LOWRIE’s sensitive side, as seen in his most popular single ‘Another Trip Around The Sun’, and reminiscences of simpler times before the loneliness and heartache of adulthood manifested.
LOWRIE says, “It was really important that I released the single early in the new year. ‘To The Border’ is a very reflective song and I feel this is mirrored in the month of January. I always find myself thinking ‘what went wrong?’ and ‘what can I do different?’ when the month begins to take movement. I wish for the people who listen to the song to reminisce about the good and the bad times, but ultimately to feel hope for the future”.
The single has been accompanied with a lyric video which can be found on LOWRIE’s YouTube channel. This is the first single of many that we can expect to hear in 2018...

lyrics
Riding the wave down.
You knew we’d always come back to it,
On the way to the border where we all go pray.
It’s like kicking a wall down,
You’re gonna break some bones.
I can see my reflection and once again I’m alone.
Riding the wave down, I never knew I’d be so afraid -
The moment I saw ya in your red beret and your leopard print jacket,
the one you always wore.
In my charity grey coat, the one that you adore.
Riding the wave down.
One day we’ll feel the sand.
Down memory lane will you hold my hand?
When the sun gets darker and all the lights go out -
Will you be my darling with no worries or doubts?
Riding the wave down.
You knew we’d always come back to it,
On the way to the border, where we used to pray.
No kicking walls down.
No breaking bones.
I’ll keep my temper in check, you’ll never leave me alone.
